WHAT IS THE FIRST THING I SHOULD DO BEFORE I LIGHT MY CANDLE?

Before lighting any candle, you should always trim the wick to 1/4 inch.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T TRIM THE WICK?

You will be left with uneven burning, sooting, burning & flaring.

HOW SHOULD I EXTINGUISH MY CANDLE?

A candle should be extinguished using a flame snuffer. Never leave your candle to burn out by itself as this is a Fire Hazard.

WHY IS THE FLAME OF MY CANDLE SO HIGH?

This will happen if you have lit your candle before removing any debris left in the wax pool such as wick trimmings or matches.

HOW DO I PREVENT THE FLAME FROM BEING HIGH?

After you have trimmed the wick prior to relighting, turn the candle upside down to remove any debris from the top of the candle.

WHY DOES THE WICK RESEMBLE A MUSHROOM?

The cotton wick will resemble a mushroom due to over-burning. This will allow carbon to collect on the wick which leads to this effect. A candle should be burnt for 4 hours, extinguished and allowed to cool for at least 2 hours.

WHAT IS A MEMORY RING / TUNNELING?

This has happened because the candle was not burned for long enough to allow the wax to melt from edge to edge, hence creating a memory ring.

HOW LONG SHOULD I BURN MY CANDLE FOR?

Always follow the guidelines from the manufacturer as to how it should be burned for. General burning is 4 hours at a time.

WHY ARE THERE BLACK MARKS ON THE GLASS?

This will happen because of moving air. You should always keep your candle away from an open window, do not place it near a fan, air conditions, confined areas where people are constantly moving about.

HOW DO I STORE MY CANDLE?

Aim to store your candles in a cool, dark and dry place with the lid/dust cover on to keep them clean of dust and debris, and to help protect the wax and fragrance.

HOW LONG WILL MY CANDLE BE FRAGRANT FOR?

Highly fragrant candles have a life span of 6 to 12 months, depending on the scent. If you enjoy fragranced candles, then use and replace them often to avoid deterioration in appearance and performance.

WHEN DO I STOP BURNING MY CANDLE?

You should not burn your candle any lower then 1/2". This can cause the glass to break as it will get too hot and this is very dangerous as it can cause a fire. At this point, it's time to start a new candle!

WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF THERE IS A DRAUGHT BESIDE MY BURNING CANDLE?

This will cause the flame to get too high and your candle will get too hot. It will reduce the burn time too.-

WHEN SHOULD I RE-CENTRE THE WICK?

You should centre your wick each time after burning. Check to see if the wick has moved after you have extinguished the candle. If it has, whilst the wax is still soft, pull the wick back to the centre of the glass.

WHY SHOULD I RE-CENTRE THE WICK?

Re-centring of the wick will ensure safe burning for next time. If the wick falls to one side and hits the glass, it can break from the heat.

WHY DOES MY REED DIFFUSER NOT SMELL WHEN THERE IS STILL OIL IN THE BOTTLE?

A reed diffuser works best when the reeds are soaked with oil. Shake your bottle well before opening for the first time. Make sure the reeds are touching the bottom of the glass. Turn the reeds once a week to maintain the maximum aroma circulating.
